Written Analysis

My video gives a look at what a normal day is like for me working at CM Countertops & Cabinets. Throughout the day, I communicate with a lot of different people, including customers, coworkers, installers, and vendors. Depending on who I am talking to, the way I write changes. Customers usually need quotes, design recommendations, and updates on their projects, while my coworkers and installers need schedules, measurements, and fabrication information to keep everything moving smoothly.

One of the biggest things I have to think about is how people will react to what I am communicating. Remodeling a kitchen or bathroom is a big investment, so many customers are excited but also nervous about spending money and making the right decisions. Because of that, I try to make my emails, quotes, and messages clear, organized, and easy to understand. I also make sure I answer questions honestly so customers feel comfortable moving forward with their projects.

My readers usually want information that is accurate, straightforward, and helpful. Customers want to know pricing, timelines, product options, and what the next steps are. My coworkers rely on clear communication so installations, fabrication, and appointments stay on schedule. Everyone expects me to be professional but also friendly since customer service is a big part of my job.

One writing skill I already use often is keeping my communication simple and organized. I try not to overload customers with technical terms because most of them are not familiar with the cabinet and countertop industry. Instead, I explain things in a way that is easy to follow. At the same time, I have learned that I need to adjust my writing depending on who I am communicating with. I can use more technical language with coworkers, but customers need more explanation and guidance.

One skill I would like to continue improving is explaining more complicated design decisions and project timelines without making my messages too long. I also think ethics play a big role in my job. It is important to give honest pricing, realistic timelines, and accurate information about products. Being transparent helps build trust with customers and creates better communication throughout the entire project.

Week 3 Delieverable

The software I used to create this assignment was tik tok. Throughout the day I was able to take short clips & go back to edit, change or add very easily. Then at the end I was able to add a voice over and background music. Overall, I liked how convient the app made it to make.
